Independence Day

I’m usually not one for patriotism. Mostly because I want to move to France. But despite the Sarah Palins and the Michelle Bachmanns giving women a bad name, and the tea partiers (ie. crazy people) and Republicans in general, every so often there’s a small little light and I realize that this is a damn fine country to live in. Until I can move to France.

So in honor of the day here’s John Philip Sousa. Because 1) Sousa is a very good name to say, 2) even though I’m generally not a fan, that’s a spectacular beard, and 3) when you’ve heard a song a million times in commercials and parades and in random passing it’s easy to not listen.
